Taunaki wishes everybody a very happy 2010 full of Wellness and prosperity.
We've been quiet lately as other projects and challenges overtook our time. We still believe in the idea of Taunaki, to become the preferred resource to Wellness, and are taking steps to ensure that happening.
Currently we're working on a new related project; Wellness Chats in cooperation with Noesis Chat. Taunaki is organizing a series of chats where Wellness Professionals are available to answer questions and provide information about Wellness. There will be different themes and general discussions depending on what the users wish to learn about and the questions raised.
If you're interested in becoming a chat host, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Subscribe to our RSS feed to keep track of the latest news from Taunaki.

Wellness is also plants
Image via Wikipedia
Indoor plants are also linked to recovery from sickness, mental health, productivity and general well-being.
Studies like the NASA Clean Air Study serves to show us that wellness indeed isn't just food, exercise and mental health, but comes from all around us. It serves to show us how important the environment is to wellness, both that of the earth, but also close to us, in our very own homes.
To obtain and maintain wellness, we need to look at all factors, even a simple thing as having a couple of plants in our bedroom and living room.

Learning wellness from our elders
Image by George Eastman House via Flickr
Sometimes all we need to do, is to look to the elder generation and see what they've done. Ask them how they managed to stay happy and healthy for 90 years through good and bad times. Ask them what's the secret to still be in love with their spouse after 65 years of marriage. Ask them what they've done to be able to grow their own vegetables and fruits.
These people have found true wellness. They're not taken up by any painful exercise regime, they don't diet and spend all their time craving foods that are forbidden, they don't look at their spouse wishing for something better.
So what is the secret behind it all? I'm not sure, but I certainly will ask them and find out. I will ask them what their secret is to wellness and happiness. Perhaps I'll be able to share the answers with you soon. Why don't you also ask those around you and share what you learn?
